Kirk Aaron Brinkman

Kirk Brinkman, age 63, of Springfield, Illinois and formerly of Barry, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Born in Hannibal, Missouri, on August 31, 1961, he was the son of Melvin D. & Roberta Pulliam Brinkman.

Kirk was a 1979 graduate of Barry High School. He was in the Navy and after being honorably discharged, worked for Norfolk Railroad. In 1986 he moved to Springfield and made his home there.

He is survived by; brothers, Brad (Jane) Brinkman, and Brice Brinkman; sister, Janie Chesney; sisters-in-law, Gloria Brinkman and Sandy Brinkman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kirk was preceded in death by; his parents, Melvin and Roberta; and brothers, Joseph Brinkman and Michael Brinkman. 

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 10:00 am at Kinderhook Cemetery in Kinderhook, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kinderhook Cemetery.  Condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL is handling the arrangements.
