Kickstart J. McCollum

Kickstart McCollum, age 33, of Perry, IL passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, IL. She was born September 12, 1990, in Quincy, IL. Her parents were Herbert and Theresa Irwin Stewart.

Kickstart grew up in Barry and attended Liberty schools. She worked at Wendy’s in Barry and County Market in Pittsfield and several area gas stations, most recently at Pioneer Express in Perry. She attended church at The Crossing in Pittsfield. Kickstart or ‘A.D.’ as she was fondly referred to by family was a free spirit with a heart of gold with a little wild mixed in. She was outgoing, loved to socialize with her friends and never knew a stranger. Kickstart enjoyed rock hunting, creekin’, and loved to pick on her sisters. She loved her children dearly and her family was very important to her and they will miss her greatly.

Kickstart is survived by her eldest son, T.J. Watkins; two younger children, Isaiah Romero and Bobbi Romero and their father, Bobby Romero; siblings, Cheyenne (Caleb) Erke of Barry, IL and Rick (Heather) Lish of Florida; grandmothers, Sharon Irwin of Barry, IL and Phyllis Stewart of Camp Point, IL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Stewart; sister, Laurina Hernandez; niece, Blakelynn; grandfathers, Jerry Irwin and Herbert Stewart; and furry friend, Tequila.

Cremation rites have been accorded and Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2024, with visitation held prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Barry Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Chapel. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
