Kevin Miller

Kevin Miller, age 60, of Josephine, TX passed away on January 6, 2023, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital, from a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Hannibal, MO on May 23, 1962, to Melvin and Carrie Miller of Barry, IL.

Kevin graduated from Barry High School in 1980. After graduation he and his cousin mark set out to find employment and found themselves in Bryan, TX working for Ace Fence Company where Kevin continued his career for 42 years and was the longest standing employee. He was an avid deer and wild hog hunter and had a lifelong dream of building a cabin on a piece of hunting land so he could hunt whenever he wanted. Kevin was able to make this dream a reality and loved to spend his weekends hunting and relaxing with his friends and family there. He enjoyed coming home to Illinois every year for family reunions and playing some not-so-friendly games of poker, going golfing and having a great time at family cookouts. Kevin married Lisa Gillum in 1988 and she preceded him in death.

Kevin is survived by; his mother, Carrie Miller;  a son, Tyler (Emily Trchalek) Miller of Aubrey, TX; daughter, Paige Miller of Waterloo, IA; sisters, Sue Tice of Barry, IL, Mary (Curt) Bowen of Wylie, TX, Lisa (John) Pennock of Pittsfield, IL and Angie Jackson of Farmersville, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Miller; paternal grandparents, Russell and Thelma Miller; and maternal grandparents, Glenn and Katherine Vaughn.

Kevin will be greatly missed and will always be loved by his family. There will be a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM on June 3, 2023, at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL with visitation held prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
