Kenneth 'Kenny' Robbins

Kenneth E. Robbins, age 77 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Friday, January 10, 2025, at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield, IL. He was born August 27, 1947, in Pittsfield, IL to Leo and Leona McDowell Robbins. Kenny married Barbara Shoemaker in Barry, IL on October 22, 1967, and she survives.

Kenny grew up in Barry, IL and attended Barry schools. In his younger years, he worked the family farm alongside his dad. Kenny later worked at Tuscarora Packing for several years and then went to work for Mike McNary farming for over 20 years before retiring. The greatest highlight of his life was spending time babysitting and caring for all of his grandchildren with Barbara where they developed everlasting memories. He was an avid fisherman and loved fishing his sweet spot with his children at the Lock & Dam. Kenny enjoyed the great outdoors, taking delight in mushroom hunting, trapping, and hunting deer and turkey. He was a loving and hardworking man who truly cherished time spent at home with family.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Robbins; son, Brian K. Robbins; daughters, Erin (Jacob) Little and Kimberly Robbins; grandchildren, Derrick Mountain, Aleigha Kessinger, Abri Little, Lauren Little, Autumn Little, Cassidy Little and Cole Little; four great grandchildren; brother, Gary Robbins; sister, Janice Ballard; in-laws, Roger (Carol) Shoemaker; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Leona Robbins; and in-laws, Carol Robbins, Ronnie Ballard, and Estil (Brenda) Shoemaker.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Griggsville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
