Kellie Sue McNary, age 66 of Barry, IL passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Barry Healthcare and Senior Living. She was born November 19, 1958, in Hannibal, MO to Albert ‘Sonny’ and Edna Hastings McCallister. Kellie married Al McNary November 19, 1981, at the First Christian Church in Barry and he preceded her in death March 29, 2011.
Kellie attended Barry schools in her younger years and later graduated from Pittsfield High School. She was currently attending Barry Christian Church; church was very important to her and she dearly loved the Lord. After graduating high school Kellie became a caretaker for her good friend, Kate. When she married Al, Kellie became a housewife and took great pride in taking care of their home. In her spare time, Kellie loved to fish, enjoyed sewing, spending time at the church, took delight spending time with friends and family, and especially loved attending area festivals. Kellie enjoyed making Christmas candy over the years with Grandma Alice and was a caring person who enjoyed a simple life. A huge part of her life were her pets that she enjoyed immensely. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and cherished time with good friend, Carolyn and many other close friends.
Kellie is survived by brother, Doug (Misti) McCallister of Barry, IL; sister, Lisa Deitzman of Barry, IL; nieces and nephews, Jordan Deitzman, Tera (Cody Thomas) Deitzman, Weston Billings, Easton (Kaylyn McKee) Billings; great niece and great nephews, Liam Thomas, Lydia Thomas and Brysenn Deitzman; aunts, Beverly (John) Newman, Bonnie (Donnie) Litts and Helen Nash; and several in-laws also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sonny and Edna McCallister; husband of 29 years, Al McNary; grandparents, Bill and Alice Hastings and Homer and Edna McCallister; and aunts and uncles, Shirley (Ray) Hartle, Janet (Dean) Trammel and Geoff Nash.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Park Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is handling the arrangements.
