Judith Dunham Obituary

Judith Dunham, age 73 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at her home. She was born March 24, 1952, in Pittsfield, IL to Robert and Dorothy Wainman Williams. Judi married Dwight Dunham December 22, 1973, at the Griggsville Methodist Church and he survives.

Judi was a 1970 graduate of Griggsville High School and then attended Spoon River Community College for 2 years. She completed her education at Western Illinois University with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. Judi began her teaching career at Perry Grade School and then after they merged, she finished out at Griggsville Perry Jr. High retiring after 33 years. Judi loved to travel and enjoyed attending all of the teacher conferences and loved the cruise to Italy with her fellow teachers. She was an avid book reader and liked spending time on her computer scanning the internet. She and Dwight cherished trips to Tennessee to spend time at their second home. She treasured time spent with friends and family and dearly loved her beloved dogs. Judi liked to go to movies, enjoyed eating out, and was a collector of antique furniture, tea pots, and pitchers. She was a stubborn, strong-willed woman who had to have her way all the time; but was always fun to be around and will be dearly missed.

Judi is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Dwight Dunham; in-laws, Steve (Trella) Dunham of Griggsville, IL and Alicia Dunham of Griggsville, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert ‘Bob’ and Dorothy Williams; daughter, Courtney Dunham; brother-in-law, Scott Dunham; in-laws, Leo and Hilda Dunham; and grandparents, Pete and Minnie Wainman.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and per her wishes all services will be held privately. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pike County Animal Shelter or Griggsville Perry PTO.
