John 'Bobby' Syrcle, Sr.

John R. ‘Bobby’ Syrcle, Sr., age 56, of Griggsville, IL passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield.  He was born on January 15, 1965 in Galesburg, IL to William and Sharon Buskirk Syrcle.

Bobby attended school in Quincy, IL and went on to work various jobs including working on a barge and at Quincy Medical Group, but for the past 15 years, he worked as a truck driver for Nash Logging.  He enjoyed derbying, working on cars, and especially spending time with his grandkids.  Bobby was hard headed with a tough exterior, but was easily one of the most caring people and was always the first to give someone the shirt off his back.  He didn’t have much and he lived a simple life but that was okay with him because the little things meant the most to him and what he did have was enough for him.  He was the first to give someone a hard time, but also the first to be there when he was needed.  He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon Syrcle of Griggsville, IL; children, John (Melinda Hidalgo) Syrcle, Jr. of Mt. Sterling, IL, Sheldon Broome of Springfield, IL, Tracy (Jason) Goewey of Pleasant Hill, IL, Jessica (Jason) Robertson of Mt. Sterling, IL, and Brandy (Tommy) Warren of Grand Saline, TX; eight grandchildren; brother, David (Crystal) Syrcle of Griggsville, IL; sisters, Donna Ballinger and Tammy (Tug) Scoggins, all of Griggsville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Syrcle; and several uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
