John S. Harris, Sr.

John S. Harris, Sr., age 74 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, in Mt. Sterling, IL. He was born October 10, 1950, in Pittsfield, IL to Earl and Fern Myers Harris. John married Tammy Schimmel December 31, 2013, and she survives.

John loved played golf in his younger years. John loved spending time camping on the river, enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching the Cubs play ball and spending time with his family, and his dog, Homer and cat, Calico.

John is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Harris; daughter, Cathy (Chris) Dearing; son, John (Alicia) Harris, Jr.; stepdaughters, Heather (John) Seal and Kelly (Steven) Bloxam; grandchildren, Emily (Nick) McGill, Mackenzie (Sam) Canaday, Morgan (Gaige) Wallace, Aymee Julius, Kayla (Dylan) Carnes, Zach Harris, Jacob Seal, Kayla (Alex) Kiehna, Bobby Seal, Eryn Seal, Cameron Smith, Christopher Smith, Landyn Seal, Tanner Seal, Blayne Sidwell, Brycen Bloxam, Theodore Bloxam, Tegan Harris, Isaac Harris, Ryne Harris, and Breanna Stewart; great grandchildren, Charleigh McGill, Camden McGill, Cartyr McGill, Casey Canaday, Weston Wallace, Josephine Carnes, Dani Seal, Scottie Seal, Easton Kiehna, and Ellie Tieman; sisters, Virginia Smith, Rita Gant, Crystal (Greg) Goodfliesh, and Connie Bollman; brother, Robert (Ashlyn) Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Fern Harris; daughter, Cheri Julius; and brother, Beed Harris.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL.
