John Dennis Booth

John Dennis Booth, age 64, of El Dara, IL, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022, at Eastside Healthcare Center in Pittsfield, IL. He was born January 20, 1958, in Pittsfield, IL to John and Minnie Camden Booth, Sr.

Dennis married Lori Salisbury on March 7, 1981, in Camp Point, IL and to this union three children were born. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Quincy. Dennis worked for Senior Citizens Meals Plus in Adams and Pike County as a kitchen supervisor for over 20 years. Dennis also worked on small engines and enjoyed making furniture and building homes. He loved watching westerns and listening to music, he was especially fond of Patsy Cline. Dennis was an avid mushroom hunter and talented storyteller. He was often known to dictate orders and sit back to supervise while the work was being done. Dennis especially loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and will be dearly missed at their activities.

Dennis is survived by son, Aaron Booth of El Dara, IL; daughters, Sandra (Jody) Coy of Pleasant Hill, IL and Amanda Bowen of El Dara, IL; eleven grandchildren, Tristan Coy, Remington Gavin Coy, Abbie Coy, Hazel Bowen, Orion Bowen, Danielle Booth, Hailey Booth, Bradley Booth, Isabella Booth, Persephany Booth and Tahlia Booth; brothers, Cary (Kimmy) Booth and Curtis (Sandy) Booth; and sister, Cindy (Steve) Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Booth, Sr.; and son-in-law, Lance Bowen.

Cremation rites have been accorded and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Chapel. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is handling the arrangements.
