Jamae M. Jones

Jamae M. Jones, age 72, of Kinderhook, IL passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Liberty Village in Pittsfield, IL. Jamae was born April 11, 1952, in Granite City, IL to Jim and Barbara Hagaman Jones. Jamae married Wyatt Wood, and he survives.

Jamae graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1970. She worked for Capitol Records, a Springfield area radio station and several positions for AT&T, finishing her career with them as a truckdriver. Jamae loved gardening and enjoyed using her green thumb and abilities to help others make their gardens bloom. Jamae liked to travel and enjoyed trips with her family to Disney and Cabo. She will be remembered as a generous, fun-loving woman with a beautiful soul.  

Jamae is survived by her mother, Barbara Jones; husband, Wyatt Wood; children, Diana (Kraig) Renken of Waunakee, WI and Jeremy (Tina) Richards of Springfield, IL; grandchildren including, Jimmy (Adrian) Carlisle, Katie Renken, Emma Renken and Megan Renken; brother, Marty Jones; sisters, Terry (Dennis) Jennings and Pat (Rex McKinley) Barber; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Jones; daughter in infancy, Katherine Harshman; and brother, Larry Jones.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to be made to American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
