Irvin C. Miller

Irvin C. Miller, age 84 of Quincy, IL passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at his home with his wife at his side. He was born January 23, 1939, in Quincy, IL to Amos Chester and Flora Lotterback Miller. Irvin married Betty Hull November 23, 1974, in Quincy, IL and she survives.

Irvin enlisted in the United States Army and served both stateside and in Germany from 1958 to 1960. After his time in the service, he worked as a welder for Motorola and Doyle, finishing out his career with Knapheide until his retirement. Irvin was a faithful member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Quincy since 1974. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting both duck and geese and spending time fishing. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing softball. Irvin was a dedicated family man who dearly loved his family and his dogs. He will be dearly missed by all.

Irvin is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Miller; son, Kamden (Rosalie) Layne of Pennsylvania; daughter, Kay (Larry) Snyder of Pittsfield, IL; five grandchildren, Amber, Steve (Jennifer) Snyder, Tammy (Greg) Zumwalt, Rachel (Craig) Lacy and Jessica (Derek) Allen; six great-grandchildren, Kylee (Alex) Tedrow, Kaleb Snyder, Nathan Zumwalt, Madison Zumwalt, Karsyn Lacy and Kipton Lacy; and sister-in-law, Irene (Gene) Nevius of Pittsfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Flora Miller, in-laws, Jess and Bernice Hull; and three sisters, Beulah Hendricks, Carolyn Mayfield and Evelyn Robinson.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 6, 2023, at Gray Cemetery in New Salem, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.
