Howard Skelton

Howard Skelton, age 73, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, IL. He was born June 16, 1951, in Jacksonville, IL to Charles Edward and Helen Mitchell Skelton.

Howard grew up in the Manchester and Nebo areas. Howard was a simple man who enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and working on cars. Howard appreciated a cold beer and good conversation with friends and family. He was a bit cantankerous but always lovable.

Howard is survived by brother, Donald (Nina) Skelton of Selinas, CA; nieces, Lori (Tuffy Shoemaker) Williams, Wanda (Jerry) Pennock, Barbara Morton, Carolyn (Dave) Wells and Paul (Tiffany) Kosse, Jr.; and several great nieces and great nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Skelton; sister, Carol Kosse; and brother and sister in infancy.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private interment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
