Herbert Wayne Foster

Herbert Wayne Foster, age 63, of Quincy, IL passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Barry Healthcare & Senior Living in Barry, IL. He was born June 30, 1959, in Hannibal, MO to Herbert Lester and Ruthie Pearl Smith Foster.

Wayne was born in Hannibal, MO and raised in Quincy, IL. Wayne was a jack of all trades and spent time managing an auto body shop, a machine operator at Titan Wheel, worked for Pike Feeds, did construction work, installed cell phone towers and finished his working career at SEM Minerals in Quincy. He was an avid stock car racer and enjoyed working on his own cars, loved to spend time outdoors camping, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was of Christian faith and Wayne loved his children and grandchildren deeply and loved to spend time with family. He was a jokester, a fun loving free spirit and thrill seeker, and was also a man who would give the shirt off his back. Friends and family will miss him dearly.

Wayne is survived by his parents, Herbert and Ruthie Foster of Quincy, IL; sons, Dustin (Kathryn) Foster of Quincy, IL, Brandon Gholston of Quincy, IL and Dakota Foster of Topeka, KS; daughters, Shelby (Travis Taute) Broome of Quincy, IL, Amber (Cody Phillips) Foster of Jacksonville, IL and Emily Foster of Arizona; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Sandy) Foster, Donnie (Cindy) Foster and Jeff (Debbie) Foster; brother-in-law, Marty Beck; sister-in-law, Jennifer Unmisig; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; sister, Terri Beck; and brother, Chuck Foster.

Cremation rites have been accorded and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Twin Oaks Club, 2707 Bonansinga, Quincy, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
