Glendel H. Ralph, of Barry, IL, age 95, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Liberty Village in Pittsfield, IL. He was born on February 10, 1931 in Rockport, IL to John and Mary (McKee) Ralph. He married Patricia Doran on August 27, 1954 in Barry, IL and she preceded him in death on December 7, 2000.
Glen graduated from Barry High School and went on to join the U.S. Army. He came back after being honorably discharged and farmed with his father. Glen became a heavy equipment operating engineer and was a lifetime member of Operating Engineers Local 965. After retiring, he ran a backhoe and bulldozer and did tiling for area farmers.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards- especially pinochle and poker, and gardening. He loved his family, spending time with his grandkids. He was stubborn- called “The Maytag Agitator” by his family, hardworking, big hearted, and loved to joke and tease to make you smile.
Glen is survived by; daughter, Sherry (Bob) Cook of Hull, IL; son, Mike Ralph of Perry, IL; grandchildren, Clint (Leah) Waters, Lisa (Forby) Myers, Kate (Bruce) Patarozzi, Zach (Megan) Ralph, and Evan (Kimber) Ralph; great grandchildren, Ari Waters, Elcee Waters, Riddick Waters, Creedon Waters, Zoey Myers, Rylee Myers, Mia Patarozzi, Ava Patarozzi, Paisley Ralph, Reece Ralph, Isla Ralph, Dante Ralph, and Toni Ralph; brother, Doug Pruett; daughter in-law, Jane Ralph; and brothers in-law, Joe Harris, Bill Smith, and Norman Doran; several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded by; his parents, John and Mary Ralph; loving wife, Patricia; son, Bob Ralph; brother, Kenneth Ralph; sisters, Donna Smith and Wanda Harris; and his in-laws, Dick and Hazel Doran.
A funeral service will by held Friday, February 27, 2026 at noon, 12:00 pm at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL. A visitation prior to the service will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment to follow the service at Parklawn Cemetery in Barry, IL. Memorials are suggested to Parklawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
