Gilda A. (Bradshaw) Erke

Gilda A. Erke, age 94, of Barry, IL passed away at home, on October 17, 2024.  She was born on September 25, 1930, to Loraine and Leona Chandler Bradshaw in Hull, IL.  She married Bernard Erke on August 26, 1948, at Akers Chapel.  After 76 years of marriage, five days after Gilda, Bernard passed away on October 22, 2024.

Gilda was a homemaker, who cherished her large family.  She was a skilled seamstress and a good cook.  She was known to be particular to detail.  She also had a soft heart for the unseen and hurting and was a very accepting person.  Gilda had a large collection of chicken décor, particularly roosters.  Gilda loved the Lord and was a member of the Tabernacle of Praise in Hannibal, MO.

She is survived by; sons, Lynn Erke of Barry, IL, James (Toni) Erke of New Canton, IL, and Thomas (Terri) Erke of New Canton, IL; daughters, Anita (Phillip) Bellovich of New Canton, IL, and Susan (Michael) Neff of Hannibal, MO; daughter in law, Carol Erke (Gary Schlosser); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by; son, David L. Erke; daughter, Janice Lynn Erke; parents, Loraine and Leona Bradshaw; grandson, Cristopher Todd; great grandson, Oliver Schenck; brother, Jerry Bradshaw; sister, Karen Hendren; sister-in-law, Naomi Bradshaw; and daughters in law, Deborah (Lynn) Erke, and Carla (Jim) Erke.

Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Tabernacle of Praise in Hannibal, MO with visitation from 9:00 am until time of service.  Interment will follow the service at Akers Chapel Cemetery in Hull, IL.
