Franklin D. Castleberry

Franklin D. Castleberry, age 90 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield, IL. He was born February 5, 1935, in Roodhouse, IL to David and Ona Ball Castleberry.

Franklin worked as a truckdriver for Gully Transport and Pete & Buck Epley Trucking. He also owned and operated his own septic tank business for many years. In his spare time, Franklin loved to go to the swap shops, especially Rutledge, enjoyed collecting wildlife décor, enjoyed spending time with his dogs, and digging herbs, specifically for Ginseng. He always treasured time riding and tinkering with his Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Franklin is survived by sons, Houston Castleberry and Dave Allen; daughter, Ona Franklin and Darla Miller; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Ona Castleberry; wife, Brenda Castleberry; daughter, Theresa Stevens; son, Franklin Castleberry; and many siblings.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
