Forbe 'Sonny' Stout, Jr. Obituary

Forbe C. "Sonny" Stout, Jr., age 73 of Bowling Green, Missouri passed away June 30, 2026, at home after a brief battle with cancer. Born January 29, 1953, in Gulfport, Mississippi the son of Forbe "Clay" Stout, Sr. and Kathleen Pamelia Cantrell Stout.

After graduating from Pittsfield High School, Sonny enlisted in the USAF and served at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS for most of his military career. He returned to Pike County, Illinois in 1982 where he lived until moving to rural Bowling Green, Missouri in 2016.

Sonny enjoyed owning and working on 1970's era muscle cars and flying RC Aircraft. He loved to fish and spent many a day "wetting a hook". Whatever the hobby, Sonny brought the same patience, curiosity and sense of humor that defined his way of life.

Sonny was the kind of man who made everyone feel like part of the family. He was fiercely loyal, generous and quick with a joke. He had a gift for making people laugh, feel seen, and know they were loved. If you are fortunate enough to be one of "his people", you knew you had someone who would stand beside you, no matter what. He found joy in life's simple moments, sharing stories, cooking and sharing time with the people he loved. His sense of humor was infectious, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

A country boy at heart, he enjoyed most his final work years at Smith Ag in Barry, Illinois, surrounded by great friends.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, and beloved dog Beaux. He is survived by the love of his life, Lita Mitchell Eatock of their home in rural Bowling Green; his son, Jeromy Rees of Springfield; sister, Patricia Evans; his special niece and nephew, Melissa "Missy" Evans Ciccarelli and Mike Ciccarelli; great-nephew Casey and great-niece, Ireland Horne; as well as numerous greatly loved nieces, nephews and "greats" and his beloved dog, Buddy. They were all very special to him, and remembered fondly.

His family is comforted that, while his earthly journey has ended, the love, laughter and strength he shared will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew him.
