Eric H. Constable

Eric Harold Constable, age 59 of Macomb, IL passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Countryview Care Center in Macomb, IL. He was born November 9, 1965, in Quincy, IL to Harold and Marilyn Brown Constable.

Eric grew up in Quincy and Pittsfield and after graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1985, earning Marksmanship Badge and Good Conduct Medal. Over the years, Eric was a freelance writer and also tended bar in several establishments. Eric was an avid reader and collector of books, gemstones, crystal watches, and fountain pens. He was always ready to go out and enjoy a good upscale meal and enjoyed a good cigarette. Eric was intelligent, protective and loyal to his small circle of friends and family; and could be counted on to talk good smack when needed. He was a very patriotic man who was proud of his time spent in the Marines.

Eric is survived by his mother; one brother; four sisters; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Constable; sister, Annette Epperson, and two nephews.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Graveside Service with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
