Elizabeth Ann Peterson

Elizabeth Ann Peterson, age 86, of Pittsfield, IL, formerly of Dixon, IL passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield.  She was born on September 29, 1935 in Herrin, IL to James and Pauline Holland Leehy.  She married Charles Peterson in September of 1965, and he survives.

Elizabeth attended school in Herrin, IL.  She began her family at a young age, working various jobs early on but spent most of her life as a housewife. Elizabeth was a longtime member of the Assembly of God in Dixon, IL.  She was big into gardening and grew African violets from seeds.  She also liked reading, watching QVC, and collecting various things that sparked her interest. Elizabeth will be remembered as a loving mother and a loyal wife.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Peterson; sons, Ernest Lewis of Georgia, Michael (Lynn) Lewis of Iowa, Paul (Angie) Peterson of Pittsfield, IL, and Steven Peterson of Dixon, IL; daughter, Vera Moore of Springfield, IL; brother James Leehy of Dixon, IL; and three nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brian Moore; and sister, Loraine Callow.
