Edgar 'Eddie' Howard Brown

Edgar ‘Eddie’ Howard Brown, age 83, of Pittsfield, IL and formerly of Pearl, IL passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield. He was born October 15, 1940, in Pearl, IL to Leonard and Dorothy Holloway Brown.

Eddie was a lifelong resident of Pearl, IL and always stopped whatever he was doing to watch the trains go through town. He loved his cats, and they were always his loyal companions, even though they didn’t much care for anyone else! Eddie enjoyed sightseeing trips and going out to eat with his sister, Ellen. He never knew a stranger and always spoke and visited with everyone. Eddie enjoyed having coffee and tea with his friends each morning and loved having fish with them. One of his friends took him to the zoo once and he dearly enjoyed that outing. He was a simple man who deeply appreciated all the kindness given to him, especially from Bernard and Virginia and he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Eddie is survived by his nephew, Ron Edwards, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dorothy Brown; sister, Ellen Edwards; brother, Lewis Edwards; and brother-in-law, Donnie Edwards.

Graveside service with public viewing will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 7, 2024, at Green Pond Cemetery in Pearl, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Green Pond Cemetery or Blessing Hospice. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
