Earl Duane Borrowman

Earl Duane Borrowman, age 69, of Kinderhook, IL passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at his home. Duane was born December 14, 1953, in Pittsfield, IL to Ervin and Roberta Peer Borrowman. He married Brenda Harrison February 26, 1977, at Barry Baptist Church and she preceded him in death June 18, 2017.

Duane grew up on his family’s farm learning about farming at an early age. He graduated from West Pike High School where he played basketball; scoring the winning shot for the team to move forward to the State Championship! During high school he also was a dedicated member of FFA, serving as an officer and was an active member of 4H, showing cattle and winning many ribbons. After graduation he went on to attend Spoon River College where he earned his associate degree in agriculture. He came back to work on the family’s farm alongside his dad until 2010. Duane was looking forward to attending his 50th class reunion at Drake’s in July. Duane collected watches and flashlights and loved St. Louis Cardinals and collecting memorabilia. He enjoyed mowing and helping his mother. Duane dearly loved his family, but his grandchildren were the icing on the cake for him. He was a friendly, happy, trustworthy and a dependable man who was always ready to help anyone.

Duane is survived by his mother, Roberta Borrowman; son, Jared (Amber) Borrowman of Kinderhook, IL; daughter, Heather (J.D.) Briscoe of Kearney, MO; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Borrowman, Lilly Borrowman, Jaden Briscoe, Brea Briscoe, Ayden David, Madison David and Christopher Borrowman; sisters, Valerie (Mark) Gittings and Karen (Tim) Coultas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Ervin Borrowman; wife, Brenda Borrowman; and son, Chris Borrowman.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, IL with visitation held prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at West Cemetery in Pittsfield, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pittsfield West Cemetery. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
