Earl Loyd Hull, Sr.

Earl Loyd Hull Sr., age 85 of Baylis, IL passed away on January 16, 2026, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.  He was born on September 5, 1940, in Pittsfield, IL to Donald and Mabel ‘Josephine’ (Cawthon) Hull.  He married Sharon Schneider on September 9, 1960, in Pittsfield, IL and she survives. 

Earl graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1958 and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1962. Earl worked in construction most of his life.  After retiring, he loved to bid on and buy storage sheds.  He also loved to fish on the river, and he along with Sharon spent many years traveling, but their most cherished times were camping in Florence, IL on the river.  Earl also enjoyed bird watching in their back yard.  Earl could sometimes be a bit feisty, but he loved his family deeply and was always ready to help anyone in need. 

Earl is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sharon Hull; two children, Shari (Roger) Bush of Baylis, IL, and Earl ‘Dusty’ (Roni) Hull Jr. of Meredosia, IL; daughter-in-law, Renee Hull; grandchildren, Dana Hull, Cory (Holly) Young, Josh (Ashley) Hull, Stephanie (John) Minor, Whitney (Michael) Huston and Rachel (Drew) Hackworth; great grandchildren, Jayden, Wesley, Bella, Gracie, Addie, Korbin, Piper, Taylor, Samantha, Autumn, Paisley, Stella, Liam, and Wesley; great-great grandchildren, Kash, Kolt and Auggie; siblings, Della Rush, Jewel Martin, Butch Hull, and Otha Hull. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Josephine Hull; son, Andy Hull; grandson, Derrick Hull; siblings, Donnie Hull, Pat Baxter, Ida Lawber, Sheila Deverger, Jean Logsdon, Bruce Hull and Chuck Hull.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and all services will be private.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the Gray Cemetery. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL is handling the arrangements.
