Della Marion (Van Buskirk) Hull

Della Marion Hull, age 93 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Pittsfield, IL. She was born May 8, 1932, in Aurora, IL to William and Ethel Reardon Van Buskirk. Della first married Delbert DeBrodander and to this union, Leota was born; she then married Lavern Downing and welcomed sons, Gary and David. She later married Fred Lothridge and to this union, Marion was born; and then Della married Pearl ‘Junior’ Hull December 12, 1998, in Concord, IL and he preceded her in death September 18, 2009.

Della was raised in Aurora, IL and she held a special bond with her stepmother Gladys, who became her mother figure throughout her life.  In her early years, she worked at a cookie factory and Johnson Apple Orchard. After becoming a CNA, she worked at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation and later at Diamond House in Pittsfield before retiring. She attended Assembly of God Church in Pittsfield. Della collected flower seeds and enjoyed gardening, was a wonderful cook who provided delicious meals, and loved bird watching in general but especially cardinals. Della loved her family and cherished time spent with them, and will be remembered as a loving, kind woman who could be a little feisty!

Della is survived by her children, Leota Wilcox, Marion (Curtis) Arnold, and David Downing; stepchildren, Kathy (Rick) Hewitt, Fred (Linda) Lothridge, Jr., and Rex Lothridge; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and sister, Gladys (Mike) Trout.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ethel Van Buskirk; husband, Junior Hull; son, Gary Downing; and five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 9, 2026, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL with interment to follow the service at Griggsville Cemetery in Griggsville, IL.
