David Mack Allen

David Mack Allen, age 62, of Concord, IL passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at his home. He was born February 13, 1962, in Rushville, IL to Donald and Sandra Chapman Allen. David married Melissa Daniels December 2, 2011, in Jacksonville, IL and she survives.

In his younger years, David graduated from Brown County High School, earned his Eagle Scout badge, and later attended a HVAC tech school. He went to work for JDC in Jacksonville as a Mental Health Tech, retiring after 35 years of service. David was a devout and dedicated member of Manchester Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and baked and delivered cookies and pies for the homebound. He previously attended The Lighthouse Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School. He was an avid gamer, loved playing pinball, watching Looney Tunes and Peanuts, and enjoyed thrifting and selling his treasures on eBay. David loved reading the bible and sharing stories on Facebook for his weekly ‘Coffee Clatch with Dave’. He was a great jokester with a heart of gold who never knew a stranger and always had a smile on his face. David was a wonderful provider and caregiver for his family and dearly loved spending time with his grandson who lovingly called him ‘PaPa Dave’. He was a gentle and kind soul who will be remembered for raising his pet lamb, Samson from birth and the many kindnesses he bestowed on members of his church and community.

David is survived by his wife, Missy Allen of Concord, IL; children, Scott (Ashley) Allen of West Sacramento, CA, Shayla (Derick Wheatley) Allen of Shipman, IL, Laken (Jordan Hill) Reel of Bonner Springs, KS and Chelsey (Jonathan Steven) Reel of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Gauge Winkelman and another on the way; and mother-in-law, Rosie Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Sandra Allen.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 6, 2024, at Manchester Baptist Church in Manchester, IL with visitation held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorials are suggested to be made to Manchester Baptist Church. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
