Cynthia (Combs) Brown

Cynthia Brown, age 72 of New Salem, IL passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was born November 5, 1952, in Wood River, IL to Clifford and Jean Cannon Combs. Cindy married Pat Brown in Wood River, IL on February 14, 1994, and he survives.

Cindy graduated from Roxana High School and later obtained her LPN license. She worked as an LPN at Barry Community Care and Eastside Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, retiring in 2015. Cindy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsfield. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidery, taking nature photographs, and researching genealogy. Cindy had a beautifully mellow personality and a sweet soul, and she will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Pat Brown; sons, Eric (Lisa) Jett, John Brown, Daniel Brown, Patrick Brown, and Matthew Brown; daughters, Jennifer Wilson and Amy Jett; grandchildren, Justin Jett, Pandora Baker, and Truston (Payton) Allastor; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Jean Combs; two sisters; and great granddaughter, Aletheia Jane Allastor.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 5, 2025, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL with visitation held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Raymond City Cemetery in Raymond, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pike County All Wars Museum.
