Connie Jeannine McGlauchlen, age 94, of Pittsfield, IL and formerly of Barry, IL passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Pittsfield Manor in Pittsfield, IL. She was born April 1, 1930, in Barry, IL to Grant Monroe and Ruth Elizabeth Woodworth Pennock. Connie married Donald McGlauchlen June 25, 1979, in Summer Hill, IL and he preceded her in death.
Connie was a graduate of Barry High School and went on to attend beauty school. She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to her family. Connie also did some house cleaning in her earlier years. Connie spent time crocheting beautiful blankets with her mom, whom she cared for in later years. She loved to garden, enjoyed car rides, coffee runs and going out to eat. Connie loved going with Donnie in the truck and enjoyed seeing all the different states. Connie loved dogs, enjoyed reading and watching hummingbirds. She could be stubborn; it was her way or the highway! However, she always had a deep love and commitment to her family, taking great delight in family get togethers and meals and she especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren and they will all miss her dearly.
Connie is survived by her son, Kenny (Becky) White of Pearl, IL; grandchildren, Crystal Syrcle, Ron (Amanda) White, Gabby Patterson, and Monica (Jessica) White; great grandchildren, Paige (T.J.) Caissie, Jaime Syrcle, Trinity Schaaf, Callie Hamman, Damian White, Shelby Patterson, Karlie Patterson and Jay Patterson; great great grandson, Charlie Caissie; nephew, Mark Holcomb (Sheryl); and niece, Dana Swim.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Ruth Pennock; husband, Donnie McGlauchlen; sister, Crystal Holcomb; brother-in-law, Russel Holcomb; sons, Grant White and Ronnie White; and grandson, Greg White.
