Connie McAdams Obituary

Connie L. McAdams, age 76 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, IL. She was born August 7, 1949, in Pittsfield, IL to Lyndell and Frances (Ryan) Lindsay.  She married Randall McAdams on June 15, 1969, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and he survives.

Connie graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1967 and went on to attend the Gradwohl School of Medical Technology where she received her Medical Technologist License.  Connie worked at Illini Hospital for several years before going to work for Dr. Bunting and Dr. Barrow.  She finished her working career back at Illini where she retired from in 2010.  She especially loved working in the microbiology division of the lab.

Connie was raised in a strong Catholic family and was a faithful lifetime member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pittsfield.  She sang in the Saturday night choir, taught CCD classes, and was known for leading the Rosary at the Saturday night services.  She was honored to receive the 2020 Woman of Distinction Award given by the Diocesan Council Catholic Women.  Connie loved to travel whether it was near or far.  She was always ready for her trips to Orange Beach with Angie and Jill and the Illinois State Fair harness races with her son Joey, making sure to hit the Bingo Hall with her mother Frances.  She enjoyed mushroom hunting and cruising on the country roads.  In her later years she found peace watching the deer and wildlife in her backyard with her husband Randy.  Connie was very close to her family and friends.  She loved having a backyard fire and wiener roast with all her people around her.  Connie was a fun, loving, kind and positive woman who was deeply devoted to her church and to her family.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Connie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Randy; two children, Angie (Doug) Wheelehon of Williamsville, MO and Joey (Stephanie) McAdams; grandchildren, Madelyn McAdams, Sean Stalter-Williams, Jameson Stalter and one great grandchild, Lenora Stalter; one brother, Wally (Stephanie) Lindsay; six sisters, Rayola Daniel, Mary (Henry) Gartner, Nancy (David) Cordes, Sue (Lindell) Shireman, Kristine (Bill) Lundberg, Teresa (Jeff) Davidsmeyer; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyndell and Frances Lindsay.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pittsfield, IL with interment to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Pittsfield.  Visitation will be held Thursday December 11, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM with Rosary and Prayer service being held at 9:00 AM prior to visitation at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL.
