Connie Jo (Bower) Cline

Connie Jo Cline, age 75, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, IL. She was born October 26, 1947, in Ottumwa, IA to Frank and Sylvia Taylor Bower. Connie married Vernon Cline April 2, 2006, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Shipman, IL and he preceded her in death December 11, 2019.

Connie was born and raised in Ottumwa, Iowa and followed her brother to Pike County and made it home for she and her daughters. She worked at the Pleasant Hill garment factory until it closed and went on to work at Kepley House and Cardinal Inn for several years until she met Vernon and retired. Connie enjoyed camping, swimming and going to the boat. She especially enjoyed taking the grandkids on golf cart rides and loved hanging out with her family; they were truly the joy of her life. She was a helpful and generous soul who would help anyone in need. Connie was a giving, kind and loving woman who was always happy and had a smile on her face. The only thing she disliked in life was going to the doctor! Connie was of Christian faith and always prayed for others and the last words when you would walk out her door would be, “I love you and God Bless you”.

Connie is survived by son, Ben (Rachael) Edwards; daughters, Angie (Paul) Peterson, Carmen (Mike) Price and Gina Edwards; twelve grandchildren, Ella Edwards, Layla Edwards, Lucy Edwards, Easton Edwards, Sawyer (Marty) Martin, Rachel (Jeff) Bethard, Joshua (Michele) Mooney, Jodi Mooney, Justine (Brett Baird) Williams, Sylvia Smith, Silas Smith and Archie Calhoun; thirteen great grandchildren, Kennadi Martin, Parker Martin, Ashton Bethard, Logan Bethard, Clayton Bethard, Quincy Mooney, Olivia Mooney, J.T. Gerdeman, Brooklyn Gerdeman, Tyler Mooney, Ryan Williams, Raylyn Williams and Gracie Baird; brother, Jim (Georgia Yoder) Bower; and sisters, Jean Myers and Pat (Dick) Reed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sylvia Bower; husband, Vernon Cline; and siblings, Bob Bower, Frank Bower and Janet Baber.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Interment will follow the service at Pittsfield West Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.
