Claude J. Warren, age 82, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Sunday April 12, 2026, at Eastside Health & Rehab in Pittsfield, IL. He was born on March 19, 1944, in Carlinville, IL to Elige and Alpha (Volnar) Warren. Claude married Carolyn Bell on June 19, 1963, in Carlinville, IL and she preceded him in death on August 17, 2005.
Claude was born and raised in Carlinville, IL and worked on a hog farm as the lead production manager for several years. They moved to Pike County where he purchased and operated the Milton Café. After the café closed, he went to work for area farmers, including Dawson Dean, Kenny Morrow, and finally Clark Shinn before retiring. In his early years he liked to drive fast cars and received several trophies for drag racing. Claude enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball, fishing and dearly loved riding his Honda motorcycle. He especially enjoyed time spent watching his grandchildren grow up. Claude was a bit stubborn and set in his ways, but was a loving man that deeply cared for his family.
Claude is survived by his two daughters, Becky (Terry) Brannan of Pearl, IL and Julie (Gilbert Elliott) Davis of Milton, IL; grandchildren, Tasha Brannan, Allan (Carmen) Warren, Tisha Millender, Trent (Melissa) Brannan, Travis (Courtney) Brannan, and Josh (Heather) Davis; great-grandchildren, Levi (Justine) Thompson, Ryan Tunget, Ryker (Anna) Warren, Lainey (J.J. Miller) Kirk, Lukas Kirk, Memphis Warren, Weston Brannan, Kolt Brannan, Josiah Davis, Miles Millender, Waylon Kirk, Victoria Millender, Jasper Brannan, Michael Millender, Journee Brannan, Tessa Brannan, Maverick Millender Amelia Brannan, Calla Brannan; great-great grandchildren, Rosalynn, Ryverlynn, Nova, Mikah, Mariana; brothers, Harold (Sue Ann) Warren, John (Carol) Warren, Ellis (Gail) Warren, Jim (Ruth Ann) Martin; sister Murel Pocklington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn; brothers, Leonard Martin, Vernon Martin and Darrell Martin.
Services will be held on Thursday April 16, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL. Visitation will be prior to the service from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Carlinville, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Blessing Hospice.
