Charles Ray Lacy, Jr.

Charles Ray Lacy Jr., of Jacksonville, FL and formally of Virginia, IL, passed away peacefully on 27 November 2023, at Jacksonville Nursing and Rehab facility Jacksonville, FL. He was born on 12 April 1948, in Pittsfield, IL to Charles Ray Lacy Sr. and Charlotte O. (Godfrey) Lacy. He married Beth Ann Edwards in 1966 and they later divorced. He is survived by two sons, Christopher J. (Jamie) of Jacksonville, FL and Charles Wesley (Ellen) of Hinckley, OH. One brother, Raymond Bruce Lacy of Kingwood, TX and his sister Karolyn K. Lacy of Mt. Sterling, Il. Six grandchildren, Lakin (Christian) Blom, Paige (Nichole) Lacy, Joseph Lacy, John Lacy, Bridget Lacy, and Brennan Lacy; great grandchildren, Alikah Mitchell and Alaina Lacy; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cheryl Rae in infancy.

Charles graduated from Virginia Senior High School class of 1966, he worked several jobs over the years, Oscar Meyer, Bunn, State of Illinois, and Good Times tavern. He was an avid NASCAR or anything racing related fan, he knew old cars and could identify the year, make, and model.  He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places and spending time with family. 

Cremation rights have been accorded and graveside services will be held at Green Pond Cemetery in Pearl, IL on 8 December 2023, at 11:00 AM.
