Charles Coultas Obituary

Charles Coultas, age 71, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Aledo Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 3, 1950, in Pittsfield, IL to William ‘Bill’ and Peggy Tilly Coultas.

 

He was a 1969 graduate of Pittsfield High School where he was a member of the undefeated Saukee Football team and threw shot put and discus on the track team. Charlie joined the United States Navy, serving in the Key West area for several years working as a maintenance tech on aircraft and Egress Systems. He remained in Florida for many years working as a maintenance man with many real estate corporations. Charlie enjoyed boating and fishing and could often be engaged in a good conversation with friends. He later returned to Pike County, IL where he was a member of the Moose Lodge #420 and played softball on the Out of Bounds softball team.

 

Charlie is survived by brothers, Michael Coultas of Quincy, IL and Mark Coultas of Summer Hill, IL; daughter, Stephanie Walker Lear; and several grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Peggy Coultas; and brother, Roger Coultas.

 

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 6:30 PM at Pittsfield Moose Lodge #420. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.
