Carol J. (Cantrell) Koncor

Carol Jane Koncor, age 63, of Bluffs, IL passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, in Pittsfield, IL. She was born November 2, 1959, in Decatur, IL to Billy Gail and Ruth Jane English Cantrell. Carol married Louis Koncor November 7, 1998, in Pittsfield, IL and he survives.

Carol grew up in Decatur and after graduation she went to Eastern Illinois College and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Following college, she worked for a freelance photographer and later was an auditor for the Sears Service Store in Springfield. Carol then began her career with the State of Illinois working for Department of Health and Family Services as an office manager and locator. She loved spending time outdoors working in her yard and fishing. Carol enjoyed motorcycle rides with Lou and loved her Rottweiler dogs over the years. She was a huge Joey Logano NASCAR fan. Her main love in life was her family and she cherished time spent with them above all else. Carol was a loyal and loving wife and mother who could also be stubborn and mischievous at times, she will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of nearly 25 years, Lou Koncor; daughters, Nichole (Cody Haley) Goodman and Kayla (Jess) Weitzel, both of Springfield, IL; granddaughter, Ryan Weitzel; brother, John (Nanci Hellmich) Cantrell of Oakton, VA; nieces, Chelsea Cantrell and Claire Cantrell; great-nephew, Damian Dart; mother-in-law, Doris Koncor; and sister-in-law, Karen (Aaron) Mocek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Ruth Cantrell.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services held at this time. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
