Callie Smith Obituary

Callie Smith, age 60, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024, at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO. She was born November 27, 1963, in Rockford, IL to Frank D. and Sharon Panozzo Smith.

Callie grew up in Pittsfield from the age of five and attended Pittsfield schools. In her younger years, Callie had pet horses and later became an avid collector of Breyer Horses and also collected Hot Wheel and Matchbox cars. She worked for several years for IDNR checking turkey tags during the hunting season and always enjoyed chatting up the hunters. Callie was an animal lover and enjoyed her pets over the years and could often been seen cruising around town with them riding shotgun. She enjoyed trips to Rockford to see her aunts, uncles and cousins and took great delight spending time at family get togethers, especially watching her nieces and nephews. Callie liked fishing, playing Bingo and riding around looking at holiday decorations. She loved going to Walmart and Farm and Home, spending hours looking around and visiting with other customers. Callie always spoke her mind but loved her family deeply.

Callie is survived by her mother, Sharon Smith of Pittsfield, IL; brothers, Luke (Angie) Smith of Summer Hill, IL and Frank (Dawn) Smith of Pittsfield, IL; nieces and nephews, Adrienne (Aaron) White, Lucas Smith, Blake Smith, Kara Smith, Frank Smith III, Richard Smith, Clayton Smith and Grace Smith; great niece and nephews, Aria White, Aspen White and Asher White; several aunts and uncles also survive; and her fur-baby, Macie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Smith; grandparents; special Aunt Betty and Uncle Luk Alfano; and several other aunts and uncles.
