Bradley Dolbeare, age 74, of New Canton, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. He was born on May 29, 1951 in Hannibal, Missouri, to Leonard A. & Helen Louise (Dunham) Dolbeare. He married Fayetta ViAnna Stolte in 1975 at Palmyra, Missouri and she survives.
He graduated from West Pike High School and then entered into the United States Army, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, and was honorably discharged in 1974. Brad first farmed for Sprague’s, then he was a machine operator with Central Stone for several years until he was injured. He then did over the road construction traveling all over the country. After retiring he served as Pleasant Vale Township Road Commissioner. In his spare time he was an avid mushroom hunter, liked fishing and hunting and loved collecting rocks and arrowheads. He played pool for many years and also enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a stunt man per say. He enjoyed sharing the projects he was working on and could fix anything. Brad will be remembered as a simple but complicated man, personable, a great story teller, onery and funny. He did not want attention drawn to him. And, he could speak with his eyes.
Brad is survived by his wife; son, Leonard Dolbeare of Plainville, Illinois; daughters, Lora Stolte of Hannibal, Missouri, Ann (Chuck) Epley of Plainville, Illinois; and Stacy (Katarina) Dolbeare of New Canton; grandchildren, Britney Stolte, Alice (Shawn) Cipollini, Tanner Kennedy, Brad Epley, LeAnn Epley, Lainey Hausmann, Grant Alexander, Tyler Dolbeare, Jaylee Dolbeare; and great-grandchildren, Alayna Stolte, Amara Withrow and Benji Kennedy; brothers, Doug Dolbeare, Frank Dolbeare; sisters, Sandra Cobern, Wendy Dolbeare; and several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Helen Dolbeare; in-laws, Trudy Dolbeare and Larry Cobern; and nephew, Brian Dolbeare.
