Billy E. Smith , age 81, of rural Nebo went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. He was born September 12, 1940 to Paul and Florence “Reese” Smith. He married the love of his life, Sandra L. Robinson Smith on May 28, 1960 and she survives.
Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids!
Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting rabbit, coon, deer, but especially listening to a great race with his coyote dogs and being “Night Rider”. He loved picking on his guitar and did it often in the morning as he watched the sunrise. He loved getting together with family and friends and playing guitars with them and singing for hours. Bill had several occupations over the years but his greatest Truest calling was that of a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ at Cornerstone Church in Milton for many years. He spent his entire life from the moment he was born again, sharing the Word of God with everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sandra Smith; his 5 children, Glenna (Brad) Pruitt, Marie Smith, Marty (Susie) Smith, Steve (Kelli Jo) Smith, Curt (Veronica) Smith; 20 grandchildren, Jennifer (Luke) Grimes, Jessica (Kevin) Wade, Jarrod (Cammie) Shinn, Carter (Carlotta) Pruitt, Aleah Pruitt, Nikki (Scott) Brangenberg, Ryan (Apple) Smith, Casey (Michelle) Smith, Justin Smith, Brittany Smith, Devoni (Michael) Allen, Londyn Smith, Joshua (Brooke) Smith, Sidney Smith (Ben Uzelac), Jordan Smith, Peyton (Payton) Sanders, Spencer Smith, Kayden Smith, Tyler (Staci) Smith, Taylor Smith; 40 great grandchildren with 4 on the way; 1 great, great grandson; his sisters, Gladys (Bob) Clarkson, Doris Webel; brothers, Don Smith, Ronnie (Pam) Smith, Fred (Joetta) Smith; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Florence Smith; granddaughter, Kylie Sue Smith; sisters, Virginia Bevins and Lois Stanley; and brothers, Floyd “Bud” Smith and Georald Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM and there will be no interment. Memorials are suggested to be made to Milton Cornerstone Church or Blessing Hospice.
