Betty Clendenny Powell

Betty Clendenny Powell, age 91, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, at Pittsfield Manor in Pittsfield, IL. She was born September 10, 1932, in Gross, KS to Robert Cates and Ruth Kimes.

Betty was an LPN and worked for Illini Community Hospital and Barry Community Care Center, she was a people person and over the years took in and cared for several people. She was a faithful woman and a member of Pittsfield Assembly of God Church. Betty loved animals, especially dogs and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She enjoyed fishing and tending to both her vegetable and flower garden and liked to crochet.

Betty is survived by son, George (Debbie) Clendenny of Brownsburg, IN; daughters, Ruby (Gary) Parke and Rosemary Clendenny, both of Pearl, IL; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ina Clendenny; son-in-law, Ray Noble; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by children, Ruth Guthrie, Charles Clendenny, Richard Clendenny and Patsy Noble; two granddaughters; one brother, George Levertt; and husbands, Floyd Richard Clendenny, Everett Triplett and Lowell Powell; and son-in-law, Geoff Guthrie.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 22, 2023, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation to be held prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Summit Grove Cemetery in Kampsville, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.
