Barbara J. (Jones) Yelliott

Barbara Yelliott, age 91 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at Liberty Village in Pittsfield, IL. She was born February 7, 1934, in rural Scott County, IL to Fred R. and Pansy K. Day Jones. Barbara married Joe R. Yelliott June 7, 1952, in Pittsfield, IL and he preceded her in death August 18, 2018.

Barbara grew up in tough times, but it helped make her strong and resilient. Over the years, she worked for Dr. Grote and for Quincy Medical Group as an accounting clerk. She was an avid reader, spent time knitting and crocheting, enjoyed cooking, and doing arts and crafts. Barbara and Joe took delight in trips to California to visit family, and she liked going to the casino to try her luck. She could be stubborn and hardheaded but loved her family deeply and will be missed by all.

Barbara is survived by sons, Terry (Deana Jones) Yelliott and Robert Yelliott, both of Pittsfield, IL; grandchildren, RaShelle Brown, Belinda ‘BJ’ (Richard Noble) Yelliott, Derek (Jenna) Yelliott, and Robin (Ed) Johnson; great grandchildren, Lane Yelliott, Kelsey Yelliott, Lucas Yelliott, Presley Brown, Anthony Miller, and Alex Johnson; two great grandchildren; brother, Robert Jones; and sisters, Audrey Jones and Kathleen Shepp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Pansy Jones; husband of 66 years, Joe Yelliott; brother, James Jones; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Yelliott.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL with visitation held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Pittsfield West Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pittsfield West Cemetery or Blessing Hospice.
