Barbara Anne Roberts, age 89, of Pittsfield, IL, formerly of Griggsville, IL passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at her home.  She was born on February 28, 1933, in Pittsfield, IL to Harry and Edna Brown Carnes.  She married Marshall Lee Roberts on September 6, 1953, and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2019.

Barbara Anne Roberts, age 89, of Pittsfield, IL, formerly of Griggsville, IL passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at her home.  She was born on February 28, 1933, in Pittsfield, IL to Harry and Edna Brown Carnes.  She married Marshall Lee Roberts on September 6, 1953, and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2019.

Barb graduated from Griggsville High School and went on to graduate from Gem City College.  She worked at Trio Manufacturing for over 30 years until she joined her husband in owning and operating school buses for Griggsville Unit #4.  They also operated car washes in Jacksonville, Mt. Sterling, and Griggsville as well as laundromats in Pittsfield and Griggsville.  Barb was a member of Griggsville United Methodist Church and later attended Pittsfield United Methodist Church, and was a past member of P.E.O.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in sporting events, socializing around Pike County, and spending time with family. She also liked to take car rides around town and going out to dinner.

She is survived by her son, Bradley (Susan) Roberts of Alton, IL; daughter, Brenda (David) Tate of Osage Beach, MO; four grandchildren, Emily (Lance) Martin of St. Louis, MO, Jeremy (Alicia) Tate of Griggsville, IL, Ryan (Marci) Tate of Birmingham, MI, and Tyler Tate of Pittsfield, IL; seven great grandchildren, Logan Martin, Chase Martin, Lydia Martin, Claire Tate, Colby Tate, Connor Tate, and Delaney Tate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Edna Carnes; husband, Marshall Roberts; and brother, Harry Carnes, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Griggsville Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the Griggsville United Methodist Church or the Pittsfield United Methodist Church.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
