Barbara J. (Hagaman) Jones

Barbara J. Jones, age 93 of Pittsfield, IL passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield. She was born October 5, 1931, in Carlinville, IL to Omer C. and Ellen Nelle Clark Hagaman. Barbara married Jim Jones and to this union five children were born.

Barbara grew up in Carlinville and graduated from Carlinville High School. She was a devoted housewife and mother who took great pride in raising her family. Barbara later worked at Kirlin’s Hallmark in White Oaks Mall in Springfield until her retirement. She was an avid reader, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and doing word searches. Barbara took delight in traveling to visit her grandchildren and she always loved a good trip to Las Vegas. She appreciated time spent outdoors gardening, working with her flowers, and watching the birds while swinging on her porch swing. Barbara was a true fashionista who not only loved to shop but possessed the keen ability to accessorize her outfits with matching shoes. She was a stoic, hardworking, generous, and loving woman who will be dearly missed.

Barbara is survived by son, Marty Jones of Rushville, IL; daughters, Terry (Dennis) Jennings of Pittsfield, IL and Pat (Rex McKinley) Barber of Springfield, IL; and grandchildren, Diana (Kraig) Renken, Jeremy (Tina) Richards, Joe (Tammy) Jennings, Becky (RC) Campbell, Chad (Jennifer) Jennings, Jesse Costello, Kelsey (Kyle) Galayda, Dezmand (Marcy) Jones, Jay Jones, Casey Jones, Molly Jones, and Nick Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Nelle Hagaman; daughter, Jamae Jones; son, Larry Jones; granddaughter, Katherine Harshman; brothers, Robert Hagaman and Omer Hagaman, Jr.; and sister, Rosemary Homer.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and all services will be held privately. Memorials are suggested to be made to Pittsfield Public Library. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield is handling the arrangements.
