Austin Shaw

Austin Joel Shaw, age 30, of Griggsville, IL passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022.  He was born on March 6, 1992, in Pittsfield, IL to Stacey Shaw and Craig Westfall.

Austin attended school in Pittsfield.  He worked alongside his dad doing construction which he really enjoyed.  He had many hobbies and was a true outdoorsman.  Austin loved rock hunting, deer hunting, fishing, mushrooming, and shed hunting with JJ and Guy.  He enjoyed cooking on the grill with his uncle Scott as well as horseback riding with him and Brenton.  He spent many hours sitting on the couch watching TV with his grandma Diann and always looked forward to when Lacey came home on the weekends so they could hang out.  Austin loved his daughter, Rayna, and enjoyed spending time with her.  He was a very loving and kind guy with the best and biggest smile that lit up any room he was in.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Stacey (John Goertz) Shaw of Griggsville, IL; father, Craig (Annette Stabile) Westfall of Griggsville, IL; daughter, Rayna Shaw of Pittsfield, IL; brothers, Josh (Karley) Carter of Pittsfield, IL and Dalton Westfall of Italy; sister, Lacey Carter of Springfield, IL; stepsisters, Grace Stabile and Rose Stabile of Valley City, IL; grandparents, Diann Shaw of Griggsville, IL, Steve (Belinda Allensworth) Shaw of New Canton, IL, and Kathy Carter of Pittsfield, IL; aunts and uncles, Steve (Teresa) Shaw of Pittsfield, IL, Sheila Shaw of Griggsville, IL, Scott Shaw of Griggsville, IL, Ben (Dawnyetta Maynard) Westfall of Griggsville, IL, Dena (R.D.) Brown of Bluffs, IL, Angela Westfall of Bluffs, IL, and Megan Shaw of Florida; niece, Berkley Carter; and special friend, Alayna Beard.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John ‘Buckshot’ Garrett, Emmett Dean Carter, and Dean Westfall.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Interment will be held at a later date.  Memorials are suggested to be made to Rayna Shaw Educational Fund.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
