Anna 'Sis' Charlene (Sidwell) Clendenny

Anna ‘Sis’ Charlene Clendenny, age 87 of Mozier, IL passed away October 8, 2025, at Liberty Village in Pittsfield, IL. She was born June 5, 1938, in Kampsville, IL to Charles and Lelia Anna Sorrels Sidwell. Anna married Elba Ellsworth Clendenny December 30, 1963, and he preceded her in death December 6, 1991.

Anna graduated from East Pike High School. She was a tomboy as a child but earned the nickname ‘Sis’ as she was the only girl in the family with four brothers. Anna was a hardworking girl who began helping her dad as a farmhand and later worked side by side with her husband on their farm. In her early years, she loved horses, dogs, and spending time outdoors. She played softball as a young adult and enjoyed doing word searches. Anna loved her family dearly and had a special affection for her granddaughter. She was a sweet, quiet, and strong woman who will be dearly missed by her family.

Anna is survived by son, Robert ‘Bob’ Clendenny of Mozier, IL; daughter, Patricia ‘Patty’ Clendenny of Springfield, IL; granddaughter, Liana Clendenny; and sister-in-law, Norma (Fulmer) Sidwell of Pittsfield, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lelia Sidwell; sons, Steve Howland and Carl Clendenny; brothers, Harlan ‘Bob’ Sidwell, Leland Sidwell, Charles ‘Buck’ Sidwell, and Wayne Sidwell; and sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Sidwell and Carrie Sidwell.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 13, 2025, at Hess Cemetery in Pearl, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.
