Amanda N. Hamilton, age 42, formally of Barry, IL passed away on Thursday September 12, 2024, at her home in LaBelle, MO. She was born on August 23, 1982, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Bruce and Rose Ann Branstetter Hamilton.
Amanda attended Barry High School and graduated in 2000. She was active and social in her school years, participating in volleyball and was a cheerleader. She went on to attend the Abbott Academy of Cosmetology in Hannibal, MO, and worked in the cosmetology industry for several years. Amanda was a waitress for a few years and later worked at the Salvation Army, a job she really enjoyed. She was an avid reader and found solace from reading. Amanda lived with her dad for a time, and they had a special bond. They liked to travel together, and he taught her many things, including how to be a collector. After he suffered a stroke, she was dedicated to helping him and making sure his needs were met. Her dream was to have children of her own and though this did not happen, she truly loved her family. Amanda was a caring person with a kind heart and always wanted to help others in her sweet, beautiful way.
Amanda is survived by her mother Rose Ann (Chris) Hamilton of Barry, IL, father Bruce Hamilton of Quincy, IL.; brother Ian (Michelle Kays) Hamilton; sister Brianne (Mike) Wible of Barry, IL; nieces and nephews Liam Hamilton, Bailey Hamilton, Rhiannon Wible, Russell Wible; and several cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by two children in infancy; grandparents, Monroe Branstetter, Flo and Glen Williams, Gene and Vesta Hamilton; and her beloved Chihuahua of 16 years, Zoey.
Cremation rights have been accorded and all services will be private. Memorials are suggested to be made to the Barry United Methodist Church or the Pike County DARE Program.
