Allen L. Baldwin

Allen L. Baldwin, age 70, of Pittsfield, IL passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023, at his home. He was born January 24, 1953, in Carrollton, IL to Maurice and Betty Settles Baldwin.

Allen graduated from East Pike High School and then joined the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam and later stationed in Thailand. He began working as a bricklayer and was a member of Bricklayers Union #8, working for many years and retiring after an injury.  Allen enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting, collecting rare coins, spending time with his cats and watching action and sci-fi movies. He also took great pride in planting his vegetable garden and especially loved his tomatoes. Allen was of Christian faith and was a family centered man who was kind, outgoing, funny and sometimes stubborn but always a caring man.

Allen is survived by daughters, MacKenzie Baldwin and Alexis Ellis, both of Pittsfield, IL; brother, Elon (Jackie) Baldwin of Pittsfield, IL; sisters, Margaret (John) Raftery of Barry, IL and Nan Megehe of New Canton, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Betty Baldwin; brothers, Joe Place and Danny Baldwin; and sister, Sue Moyer.

Services will be held privately and cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the family c/o Niebur Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
