Condolences to the Entire Ervin Family. I went all throught school with Vernon and have lots of memories that came flooding back as I read of his passing. Like when he wrecked his Dad's Kaiser and his Dad made him fix it. In the process he learned a skill that lasted him a life time. Or when he led an effort to form a "Car Club" in Griggsville. Many of us joined the "Griggsville Kustom Kings". Or when Mrs. Harshman made him, I and two others sing a quartet version of "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Carnation" at the 1958 Spring Choral Festival. Didn't matter that we couldn't sing, we still got through it. Needless to say Vernon will be remembered .......and missed.

'As a distant cousin who left Pike county in 1951 I hadn’t seen him in many years but our cousin Marcia has kept me informed. I knew his father and his uncles and they were all fine folks.

Have been gone from Pike County for some time but fondly remember Butler reunions and getting to connect with cousins.  My sympathy to all the family and especially Kay and kids and Carolyn as I have been able to keep in touch with her.  My thought and prayers are with you all.
