Posted by: Brenda Manis Mon February 08, 2021 | The Pike County community has truly suffered a great loss with the passing of Mary Ruth Kendall. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, we did share many conversations over the past 20 years as she advocated for our John Wood Community College students through her passionate commitment to education. Her involvement in and support of the Pittsfield High School Class of 1954 Scholarship Fund has helped change the lives of so many students in our region.
Rest in peace Miss Mary. |

Posted by: Darwin and Lisa Feenstra Thu February 18, 2021 | We were so sorry to hear of Mary Ruth's passing. From the time we began attending the Pittsfield United Methodist Church with our sons, Mary Ruth was always friendly and made us feel welcome there. She interviewed our son, Joey, for a Class of '54 scholarship and from that time on, whenever she saw me or Joey, she would ask how he was doing and was so encouraging and kind. I appreciated the opportunity to get to know her and I know Joey was grateful for her assistance and encouragement and for the scholarships he received from this very generous group, as are we. She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
