Peggy and Bill, I am very sorry to hear about Johnson's death. When I remember my own parents and their friends, I picture Gwen and Johnnie alongside them.

Johnson and I served on the board of the Pike County Chamber.  If you needed something done, all you had to do was ask Johnson Stilwell.  He always greeted you with a friendly smile and was ready to work.  I respect him very much and my deepest sympathies to his family.   He was one of the good guys!  He will be missed!

Johnson was a true supporter of the Pittsfield Pike County Little League and Illini Community Hospital. Our family will be forever grateful to Johnson and his family, Shirley, and Peggy and Bill Durall. Every time we were blessed to run into Johnson, he complimented and encouraged each of us to keep growing the two. Johnson loved this area and we consider him our biggest cheeeader.   No finer man have we ever known. His "first pitch" before out state tournament hosting will live in our hearts forever.  We celebrate his homecoming but grieve for the loss of Johnson selfishly. Our prayers of peace and the best memories for all of you.

Johnson was so kind and such a positive force for Pike County and for all of us.  When duck season comes around Denny always has many, many stories to tell of Johnny, Keith, and Clay duck hunting.
Peggy, Bill and family we are so sorry for your loss.

I'm very sorry to read of Johnsons death in the Pike County Express.  I've known him for many years, and we worked together on a possible business venture several years ago.  I also valued his advice and respected him highly.  I'm sorry that I really don't know his family but want to send my sincere condolences to them.
