Patricia M. Phillips, age 61, of Barry, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her home.  She was born on November 14, 1959 in Pittsfield, IL to James and Elaine Puckett Phillips.  

Patty graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1978 and went on to work various jobs.  She worked as a waitress at Cardinal Inn, bartended at Spot Tavern, and worked at convenience stores for over 30 years.  Most recently, she was working for Ascend.  Patty loved her pets, watching TV, and reading true crime books.  She also enjoyed crocheting.  She was hardworking, vocal, and free spirited.  She was also very friendly and never knew a stranger.  She will be missed by many.

She is survived by two brothers, Jim Phillips of San Diego, CA and Tom Phillips of North Carolina; sister, Peggy (Tom) Bartlett of Barry, IL; niece and nephew, Nicholas (Alyssa Garza) Bartlett of Cedar Park, TX and Michelle (Adam Ferrell) Bartlett of Barry, IL; and great niece, Gwen Bartlett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elaine Phillips; and grandparents, Tom and Lucille Phillips.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  Patty loved the color purple and the family asks that you wear purple in her honor.  Memorials are suggested to be made to the Pike County Animal Shelter or Donor’s Choice.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.  Niebur Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

I had the honor of working with Patty for about 6 years , she was a true joy to work with, never a dull moment. I am so going to miss her and her big smile and purple hair....Rest in Peace Patty....hugs and prayers to her family...

Thinking of you Peggy and your family with heartfelt sympathy. Praying you will have peace and comfort. Patty was such a fun loving, good hearted person. We ha4d a lot of good times. I'm saddened to know I'll never see her again. She won't be forgotten!

Oh my dearest friend, this was a big surprise I saw today. We meet round 25 years ago, you touched my heart then, with your laugh, smile, attitude, and all round kindness. The world lost a very beautiful soul. May you test in peace

Patty was a blessing in my life, as well as my husband Bill's. She had her own special way of brightening everyone's day, whether at work or out and about. She was adored by so many people for her sweet spirit and sense of humor. Although our time was short, she will forever be in our hearts.
