She married Harold E. Ruble in Pittsfield on April 23, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2008.

She grew up on a farm owned by her father just west of Monroe City, Missouri with two brothers and four sisters. Sue and Harold worked for the Brown Shoe factory in Pittsfield, Illinois and Brookfield,  Missouri. They later worked at Wolverine Boots in Hannibal, Missouri until their retirements where they resided until leaving this mortal plane. Both enjoyed cooking, her flowers, laughing, dancing, cards, camping, fishing, traveling and just hanging out with friends and family having a few adult refreshments and a maybe a smoke. She loved sitting by the water drinking a few Coors Lights so she got the nickname the Silver Bullet because of her hair color! Both were members of the Eagles, Elks, Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars. They had two sons that were their pride and joy but more than a handful to raise.

Family survivors include their two sons, Doug (Carol) Ruble of Hannibal, MO and Dan (Tamie) Ruble of Curryville, MO; a brother, Wayne (Ruthann) Tipton of Monroe City, MO; two sisters, Margeret Ratez of Columbia, MO and Jean Buckman of Columbia, MO; three grandchildren, Mardy (Mike) McDowell of Liberty, IL,  Sara Ruble of Liberty, IL and Carrie Kuhn of Sandy, UT; and six great grandchildren.

Sue was one of my office employees at the Brown Shoe Co. plant in Brookfield, MO in the 1960's. She did excellent work and was liked and appreciated by everyone.

My sympathy to her family.
