Rosemary Darnell, age 74, of Beverly, IL passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born on October 26, 1946 in Barry, IL to Russell and Thelma Hinch Miller. Rosemary married Glen Darnell on January 7, 1963 at Pastor Robert Byler’s home and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2020.

Rosemary was a homemaker, but her true calling was taking care of her husband, Glen. He was her soulmate and her family was her life. Rosemary was very neat and organized and her house was always spotless. She felt the same way about her yard and took great pride tending to her flowers and rose bushes. Rosemary loved her dogs, especially her baby Lucy; she was a special comfort to her after Glen’s passing. Rosemary was a quiet and private person who had great empathy for others. She could sometimes be stubborn but often could be swayed with a fountain Coca-Cola.

Rosemary is survived by three daughters, Sonja (George) Gore of Durham, KS, Tina (Randy) Huddleston of Beverly, IL and Heidi (Jesse) Shaffer of Lakeshore Hills, Fowler, IL; seven grandchildren, George Curtis (Alicia) Gore of Quincy, IL, David Gore of Durham, KS, Amanda (Dustin Hoffman) Huddleston of Quincy, IL, Ashley (Jake) Venvertloh of Quincy, IL, Johnny Huddleston of Beverly, IL, Zachary (Amber) Shaffer of Liberty, IL, and Isabella Shaffer of Lakeshore Hills, IL; eleven great grandchildren, Paige Gore, Will Gore, Adrianna Gore, Grayson Gore, Caidon Lish, Kaylin Hoffman, Jace Venvertloh, Avery Venvertloh, Jailyn Akers, Mylan Shaffer, and Harley Shaffer; brother, Tommy Miller of Quincy, IL; sister, Sue Lara of Pittsfield, IL; and her two favorite companions, Sadie and Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Thelma Miller; husband, Glen Darnell; six sisters, Betty Malone, Jean Niffen, Wanda Kingery, Mardell Smith, Virginia Bagby and Joyce Wintjen; five brothers, Russell Junior, Melvin, Donnie, Norman, and Dickie Miller.

All services will be held privately with interment at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to Park Law Cemetery. Online condolences may be left to the family at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is handling the arrangements.
