Bertha Agnes Reynolds, age 97, of Wheaton, IL passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Anthology Assisted Living in Wheaton, IL. She was born on October 24, 1923 to John and Hattie Goebel Bachi in Whiting, IN. Bertie married Robert Haney Puckett in September 1943 and later married Wilson Reynolds and both preceded her in death.

Bertie was an accomplished seamstress and had an opportunity to attend the Chicago School of Design. She made many of her daughter’s clothing items when they were growing up and taught both of her daughters and their friends to sew. Bertie loved counted cross-stitch and made many heirloom pieces for her family. After Bertie moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas she became an avid walker and enjoyed walking her dog, Tipper. Bertie was a faithful volunteer for the local nursing home in Mountain Home as well as a member of a bowling league where she maintained a 175 average. Bertie loved to play card games and was fiercely competitive. She enjoyed putting together puzzles and always had one in progress.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Karen) Puckett of Pittsfield, IL and Robert Puckett of Evanston, IL; two daughters, Carolyn (Bernard) Giovingo of Wheaton, IL and Louanne (Mark) Malak of Redlands, CA; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Bertie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie Bachi; six brothers, Robert Bachi, John Bachi, Victor Bachi, Eugene Bachi, Wilbur Bachi and Kenneth Bachi.

Private graveside services will be held at Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Baxter County, Arkansas. Memorials are suggested to be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left to the family at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL is handling the arrangements.
